New Executive Leadership Appointed at HIA

April 21, 2020

NASHVILLE – The Hemp Industries Association® (HIA®) announces the appointment of 4 board members to executive leadership roles. Association Vice President, Rick Trojan, is appointed Board President and former Association Treasurer & Hemp Farmer, Mike Lewis, is appointed Board Vice President. The Board appoints former Board Directors,  Annie Rouse as Secretary and Frank Robison as the Board Treasurer.

“The whole board is energized by the new appointees,” said Trojan “now our top priority is finding the right Executive Director to run the Day-to-Day operations for HIA®. We had over 100 amazing applicants before the February deadline and now we have the tough job of narrowing it down. It’s probably one of the most important decisions we will make this year and we want to get it right. We hope to have someone in place by the end of April.”

The Association also announces the implementation of a new State Chapter Task Force.

“There is still so much to do on a state by state basis,” said HIA Membership Director and task force lead Sarah Gardner “Current chapters should be receiving more support from the national office and we need to build new chapters in every state. The new board leadership recognizes that to grow the hemp economy and support hemp professionals at every level we need a robust state by state strategy.”

The HIA has the broadest and largest state chapter program specific to all things hemp in the country. Current Chapters include Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Lousiana, Nebraska, New York, Pacific Northwest, Tennessee, and Texas. There are 4 pending chapters: Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, and Wyoming.
